Counsel Timothy Twikirize
LLB (Hons), Pg Dip (Legal Practice) Timothy is a Director of The Arbitration and Mediation Society of Uganda. He has been an Advocate of the Courts of Judicature in Uganda for over 10 years. He is an active member of the Uganda Law Society and the East African Law Society, is a Rotarian, and an International Member of Amnesty International. He has wide experience representing private individuals, governmental and non-governmental organizations in Uganda and beyond.
Timothy has also previously served as the Executive Director of African International Christian Ministry (AICM), a non-governmental organization operating in Uganda, the Republic of Uganda, and South Sudan. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Assembly of Promoters and as a member of the Appointments Board of Kabale University (2009 to 2016). He is widely traveled and he has participated in several international legal pieces of training and conferences, organizational management, and fundraising activities.
He has conducted extensive research on human rights issues affecting indigenous peoples/ ethnic minorities in East and Central Africa and is a widely sought-after human rights educator within the East African region.
Presently, Timothy serves as the Managing Partner of Messrs Twikirize & Company Advocates, a Kampala based law firm, majorly involved in civil, commercial, and human rights-related litigation
Timothy is married, with three children and lives in Kampala, Uganda.
